Caromal Colours in Bayberry Part 2

                                Before                                              After

You may remember my earlier post here about choosing a piece of furniture to try out the Caromal Colours on.

I picked the coffee table.  The color is Bayberry and can be purchased here. Patty from Fabulouse Finishes
was kind enough to supply a coupon code "PattyH" for you to use on your Caromal Colours purchase.  (Thanks Patty) Head over to her blog to see more projects.

Before it became a coffee table, it existed as a dining table.  I purchased at a yard sale.  It is solid oak that I originally painted white.

You can see where I Hubby gave the legs a little trim.  Yes, this was another one of my brilliant ideas that I involved him in.  Eye roll here.

This paint required no stripping, sanding or any prep work.  This was the attraction for me.

Directions say to "Mush" the paint on.  You can see how thick this stuff is, it is like painting with toothpaste.  My best method was glob it on and mash it around with the paint brush.  It will not look smooth or shiny, it even looks like you painted with toothpaste.  It has the dried up look about it at this stage, but continue on it will turn out fine in the end.

Let dry and then, for me haul it outside into the snow to sand.  Hubby thought I was crazy at this point, especially because he was involved in helping me carry it outside.  Another eye roll!

Let the sander do the work, the more distressed the better.
Wipe with a microfiber cloth to remove the dust and I also chose to vacuum any remaining dust.

Apply the "Toner" with a brush or a rag.  The rag method worked best for me.

Let dry.

Give it a light coat of wax or your favorite poly.

My old dining table, coffee table transformed.
