Fall Table with a Grain Sack Runner

I just had to show you this wonderful grain sack that I found at the flea market.

I didn't know what I would use it for when I picked it up, but it fit perfectly on my dining room table.

The fall colored dishes I have had forever and they were purchased at Target.

Next on my list is to paint the dining room chairs.  Any color suggestions?

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint through a Sprayer

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
"Antibes Green"

This is how the table looked when I purchased it off CL for $10.

I know most everyone is using a paint brush to apply Annie Sloan paint, but I was a rebel and sprayed it.

This is a cheap sprayer from Lowes and I find it sprays Annie Sloan paint much better than my expensive sprayer.  It is also very easy to use, it comes with a DVD explaining everything in detail on how to use, and clean the sprayer.

I did add a little water to make the paint thinner.

I sprayed
one coat of paint, waited 15 minutes and sprayed another.

2 hours later I sanded it by hand.  This paint is not as hardy as other paints and sands easily, so my electric sander would have been to much.

I applied one coat of clear wax and one coat of dark wax.

I love the old vintage green color!!

 "Antibes Green"
I purchased the chalk paint at this wonderful new shop called Bungalow 47, they can also be found on Facebook,
if you have some time go to there Facebook page and check out all the Chalk Paint photos.

From Thrift Store to Wall Decor

The hats I found at a local thrift store and decided they would work perfect to  complete a wall in the cabin.

I already had everything else and thought the wall needed a little more to balance it out, so the hats worked out perfect.

A cheap way to fill a space.

Update a Side Table with Paint

I found this little table at a local Ebay store and had to have it.
It is very sturdy and a quick project to update.
By now you all know I have fallen in love with Martha's paint called "Cornbread"
so of course that is what I used.

A little paint, a little sanding, some wax, and a whole new look.

 It's my new favorite piece.

 I only spent $7.

Cornbread and Cream Coffe Table

I have fallen in love with Martha Stewart's paint called "Cornbread"
and decided to give my coffee table a new look.

Here is the before shot, and before that it  can be seen here.

I painted the base and legs with "Cornbread" and the top with Sherwin Williams "Lotus Pod"  then hit it all with my sander.

The yellow is such a cheery color I just can't get enough.

Cornbread Chalkboard

My teenage son seems to slip out of the house without getting anything done, so I decided there would be no excuses if I posted the Chores in Black and White.

I started with a section of plastic back-splash that I already had on hand,

cut out the center to give it a framed appearance,

cut a section of white board,

paint the white board with chalk board paint, and the frame with "Cornbread" yellow paint,

then I added a little brown toner,

flipped it over and duct taped the white board into place,

tied a string to the chalk and attached it to the frame with an old, rusty spring.

Now he should know exactly what chores are to be done!
