Felted Wool Flower Pin Tutorial

A tutorial of this pin has been requested by Regan @ A Day in the LifeThis is the pin I have on in several of my photos.
Here is what you will need.
9X13" piece of felted wool (purchased at The Hen House)
Hot glue gun
Pin or clasp
Pencil
Scissors
Something to make a 3 1/4" circle (I used a tuna can)
Something to make a 2 1/2" (I used my small funnel)

STEP 1
Trace and cut out 7 large circles (tuna can)
Trace and cut out 1 small circle (funnel)
Also cut out a small scrap to place over the pin
This is what you should have
STEP 2
Cut the 7 circles into flowers with 5 petals, there is nothing scientific about this just cut V's into the fabric it doesn't matter if they are uniform or perfect you will never be able to tell after this point.
STEP 3
Put a small drop of hot glue in the middle of the petal
STEP 4
Fold petal in half and press together holding the glued area
Continue on until all 7 petals look like this
STEP 5
Put another drop of glue on the bottom center of the petal already folded in half  and...
 Fold in half again
This is what you should have
STEP 6
Now put a drop of glue in the center of the small circle (funnel)
and push a petal into the center where the glue is.  From here you will build the petals all around the the center petal. Example below
All your glue is primarily in the center of the circle, keep all the points of your petals tight together in the centerKeep working your way around until all six petals are surrounding the center petal
Now this is what you should have
STEP 7
Flip the flower over and put another drop of glue in the middle and.....
STEP 8
Press the pin in place, but make sure you have it in the open position so you don't glue it shut (a mistake I made)
STEP 9
Here's where you use that little piece of fabric, just glue it over the back side of the pin to tidy it up.

There you have it
Email me if you have any questions
