Changemakers & Stylemakers Join Forces for the 2010 Sustainable Planet Film Festival in NYC

Environmental economist and television producer Pamela Peeters will be hosting the 5th Anniversary of the Sustainable Planet film festival at the Gabarron Foundation in NYC this Tuesday, June 8 (*also World Oceans Day). This year's theme is 'Sustainable Cities and The People Who Make It Happen'. Two day event ticket passes are still available via the Sustainable Planet website. Click the 'donate' button to register.

The Gabarron Foundation's Carriage House Center for the Arts is located at 149 East 38th Street, between Lexington and 3rd Avenues in NYC.

The 2010 FILM FESTIVAL's 12pm to 6pm program on June 8 will run as follows:

"Climate Chaos in the South, The Victims Story", Director: Geert De Belder
"Fresh", Director: Ana Joanes
"Eco Boys and Girls", Director/Producer: Maria Snyder
"Native Wind Powering America", Director: Chip Comins
"Urban Farming NYC - Bronx NY", Director Steve Ritz and Adam Liebowitz
"Ethical Markets", Director: Hazel Henderson

"Ana Joanes is the director and producer of Fresh, one of the most inspiring movies recently made about our food system and what we eat. The documentary looks at the current unsustainable state of factory farming in the US and how the industrialization of food has created severe environmental problems. Fresh, however, is not a tale of doom and gloom, in fact quite the opposite, as it focuses on the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system through local and organic family farms." - via PlanetGreen
