Fall Decorating

Slowly, very slowly, I am starting my Fall decorating.

I like to use thing in nature that I find, and small pumpkins and squash that can also be turned into dinner at some point.

I love the look of the Sweetgum in my flea market tool box.

 The colorful squash will be eaten.

The lavender was rescued from my porch before the frost did any more damage.

Rusty Things

Me and my shadow (our German Shepard) went for a walk yesterday and I decide to take along my camera.

For those of you who don't know, I live in the country on a dirt road, in a farming community.

 

I don't have to look hard to find rusty objects in my area.

We walked about 2 miles and found all these wonderful, rusty items.

I think I have a love for rust.

My favorite is the old Ford blue and Rust.

I'm so glad I took my camera along!!

Signs of Fall

It has already frosted heavily here so Fall is on her way.

The crab apples are on the trees.

 There's field after field of Golden Rod in bloom.

 Queen Ann's Lace is mixed in with the Golden Rod.

...and the leaves are starting to change.

Fall

Garden Ghost's

No ghost's, just drop cloths.  We have had heavy frost in my area the last two nights and I am trying to squeeze every piece of fruit and vegetable out of my garden for the season.

Thankfully everything has survived so far.

My plants are still loaded with green tomatoes.

And the second batch of beans need a little more time to grow.

So ghost's in the garden will stay for a while loner.

As a last resort, I will pull all the tomato plants and hang the from the rafters in the basement until they turn red.

Yikes, What is Going On?

I walked through the door yesterday and was horrified!!!

Scaffolding was set up in my living room.....

and all my furniture was pushed to the middle of the room.

Apparently, Hubby and one of our employees decided to re-chink the inside of our log home while I was out couponing.

My first thought was "I'm going to have a real mess to clean up and how much of that stuff is on my white furniture."

I did convince them to clean the windows for me since they were right there anyway. 

And I manage to get through it, I'm a little lot bit of a neat freak, but

everything is clean, and I can calm down now.

Garden Raid

I was at the farmers market yesterday admiring all the beautiful blooms, planning on making a purchase.

Then thought, that would be stupid just raid your own flower garden.

So I did!

Garden Update

Week one, garden update.

The tomato plants have blossoms...

the lettuce is up...

the radishes are up...

 beans have sprouted...

the squash is up...

 and the cucumbers have a second set of leaves.

My garden in a bag is coming along nicely!
